S-Lift View Photos

  The modern face-lift alternative

For many patients prefer the S-Lift to a face-lift because:

  • The wind-tunnel, overly tight, "facelift" look is not longer.
  • They want "natural looking" rejuvenation.
  • They are busy and need:
    • faster results with less down time
    • smaller incisions
    • no visible scars
    • no permanent hair loss.

 The S-Lift Is Not A So-Called "Mini-Face Lift"

Mini-face lifts only tighten the skin.  The S-Lift restores a youthful skin contour and permanently elevates the underlying facial and neck structures.

The deeper tissues are also tightened in different directions (vectors) than the skin.  This creates a natural elevation and rejuvenation of the face and neck

Under the skin - special sutures (dashed lines)
are used to permanently lift & contour
the neck and face

Dr. Steinman customizes the extent of the S-lift surgery to each patients needs. This is another reason that a natural appearance is achieved.

Safety is Essential for Cosmetic Surgery

All S-Lifts are performed in Dr. Steinman's office.  Dr. Steinman is also CPR and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certified and his surgery room is equipped with all required emergency medications and equipment.

The S-Lift is performed using intravenous sedation and local anesthesia.  The patient is kept relaxed to the degree they desire, without the very serious risks associated with general anesthesia.

How is the S-Lift Performed?

Before surgery, Dr. Steinman will mark the surgery patterns on the skin and give the patient oral and intravenous medications for relaxation and pain control.

A special anaesthetic solution is gently injected in front of the ear, numbing the surgical field.   The solution also lifts the skin from the underlying tissue and creates a near "bloodless field".

The incision is placed in a natural crease in front of the ear.  There is no distortion of the earlobe or hair line and no scar behind the ear (as can occur with other face-lift operations.)

Under the skin, the loose and sagging facial structures are carefully lifted and tightened  using suturing techniques similar to standard face-lift operations.  The excess skin is then trimmed and meticulously sutured (stitched) in place.

Dressings are placed over the cheeks and neck.  The patient leaves the office awake and pain free.  Sutures are removed 7 and 10 days later.

Because some neck and cheek bruising may occur with an S-Lift, complementary camouflage makeup is provided to mask any discoloration that may occur after surgery.
